QuestionI'm trying to find out what the name (horticultural name) is of a certain plant I had
growing in a basket for over 20 years. My mother
gave me a cutting of it. I don't have a photo
but it had purple elongated leaves and grew almost like a vine. The leaves were "hairy" and if it got enough sunlight it would produce a 3 petal pink flower. It was beautiful, but it finally went to "plant heaven" this year. I'm
desperately trying to find out the horticultural name so I can look it up or find out if someone has that kind of plant!
Hope you can help me, my mother called it a "purple passion" vine, but I looked it up and the plant shown in photos is not the one!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you for the excellent description of the plant you are seeking. The plant is commonly called Purple Heart and its botanical name is Setcreasea purpurea.
I hope that will help you find a source.
