QuestionI just purchased a Schefflera plant two weeks ago that is about 3 ft. I've placed it in my house in a corner next to a window that exposes the plant to partial lighting. Everyday I've been seeing leaves dropping and some of the leaves are week and brown. I water and mist the plant once a week. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
AnswerHi Marie,
Move your Schefflera so that it is right in front of an unobstructed window. That is the primary cause of the leaf drop.
If you repotted it, that will also contribute to leaf drop.
Make sure that the top quarter of the soil dries out in between waterings. That may take longer than a week.
Misting does no harm, but it is not helping either. You can skip it, if you like.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
