Anthurium Drooping and Browning

Question
I have two Anthurium plants that I bought two months ago.  I planted them in drained fiberglass containers.  They've always looked droopy, but now they're yellowing and browning.  I've been all over the internet trying to find out how to fix them.  I've tried more light and less light, and light doesn't seem to make an impact.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Jessica,

I understand your frustration with trying to get a good plant diagnosis on the Internet, in part because most plant problems are unique and in part because there are a lot of folks dispensing bad information on the Internet.

Plants respond slowly to most changes, particularly light. A plant would need to be in a new light location for at least a month before any improvements would be noticeable.

I need some additional information about your Anthuriums. Some photos sent to me at [email protected] would be particularly helpful.

What size (diameter) pot were your plants in before you transplanted hem? What size pots are they in now?

Can you describe what they are planted in - soil, peat moss, sphagnum moss, bark chips, Orchid mix.

Please describe your watering routine for me.

As for light, Anthuriums do best on a north or east facing window sill.

I look forward to your reply so that we can figure out what has gone wrong and end your frustration and get you to smile again!
