QuestionHi Kristina
I have had so much trouble getting my african violets to flower. I have moved them to different locations in my house to get more sunlight for them. I have let them dry out, water from the bottom and fertilized them with african violet food. When I buy a new plant that is flowering I seem to keep them flowering for about a month or two and then the flowers die off. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
AnswerFirst the pot should be 1/3 the size of the plant. THey like to be root bound.
Second..fertlize with a good balanced fertlizer with NO Urea. Urea can cause death.
Third...they need bright indirect light. Not full sun. They require 10 to 12 hours of light a day. If you do the first two things and still new blooms you need to supplement with artifical light.
I hope this helps you
Happy Growing
Kristina
