plant seed


Question
Im currently growing some peace lilies and 2 little ones came up beside the big plant i trans planted them an there doing well . my question is the big one has a long seed like thing that it produces every three months or so ive been saving them and keeping them dry . are these seeds or one big seed. ?? If so how long do i have to wait to plant it for to start some more. they love mirical grow thanks jojo.

Those are seed pods. I have never tried growing a peace lillie from seed but if I were going to try it I would plant them immediately after they turn brown since tropical seeds usually do not need any rest period. Most experts do not reccommend growing this plant from seed because plant is a hybrid and the seed usually do not produce plants that are exactly like the parent, they revert to a much less pretty plant. However, it won't hurt for you to try. This plant is usually propagated by division. You let the babies that come up beside the parents grow till the pot is full then divide the plant in half. Be careful not to overwater peace lillies, they like to get fairly dry between waterings. Also do not put them in too large a pot, that does not encourage faster growth and actually slows them down.  Good luck.
