my mother in law plant is turning yellow

Question
i have 2 mother in law plants and i keep them in the house  i water them once a week. but some of the blades are turning yellow what am i doing wrong

Answer
Hi Gina,

The one thing that this plant cannot tolerate is soil that is kept moist. It must dry out completely between waterings or the roots will rot and the leaves will turn yellow and die. In most cases, this plant will go a month or more between waterings. If you repotted yours into larger pots, then that will also contribute to root rot. They must be kept rootbound so that the soil dries out quickly. They also do best when given lots of good light.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
