Tulip plant

Question
I recieved a potted Tulip.  How do I get it to come back to life?  The flower has now died and the leaves that are left are soft and light green.  It is the size of a small potted plant, with the Tulip already bloomed.  Is it too late for my plant?

Answer
Vanessa,

A tulip is a bulb that is not a year around houseplant. Plant it in the ground so the bottom of the bulb is about 6 inches deep outside in full sun and fertilize it. Hopefully it will perk up and the leaves will live awhile longer and feed the bulb. By the end of June it will go dormant.  Next spring it will come up again outside and bloom again. In the fall mix a cup of bonemeal into the soil over the top of the bulb.  That will give it more strength to bloom next spring. Good luck.
