QuestionIn our office we have a northfork pine tree about 31/2 feet tall. The foliage on the tips of the limbs has turned gray-white like. Can you give me some suggestions on what may be causing this?
AnswerHi Lorrie,
Gray-white needles at the ends of branches is unusual. It may be nothing at all, depending on the degree of coloration. A photo sent to me address below would help.
Mealybugs are a possibility and so are aphids. Another possibility is damage due to excessive hard water or overfertiizing. Finally, a fungal infection is possible, although unlikely.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
