QuestionMy african violet plants are blooming well. In the last weeks about 70% of the leaves' edges have a thin stip of yellow around them like a border. The border is about 1/8 inch wide. What could be causing this and what can I do?
AnswerElizabeth,
I want to help you with your violet problem, however, I need more information. Please reply with any details you can think of, such as what are your watering habits; do you fertilize; how much light do they get; what is the sun exposure; have you noticed any insects around them, etc. Just anything at all you can tell me, even if you think it is unimportant. It could be important to your violets. Also, have you moved your plants lately? When I said 'exposure' above, I mean do they get any direct sun, or filtered sun through a curtain? Have they been exposed to any cold lately? It almost sounds as if your violets are getting too much direct sun or heat from some source. Also, do the leaf edges appear CURLED at all, are they dry? Give your plants a once-over, and get back to me. I look forward to your reply.
Thanks, and I'll look for your reply!
