QuestionI have a braided money tree (Pachira) that's about 5 feet tall (at the tip of its highest leaf) in a 16-inch pot. The tree is next to a bright window, and has grown a couple of feet taller and has grown large leaves in the last year.
It has clear, sticky droplets on its stems, and on some of the leaf stems' undersides. The clear drops turn white. What is causing the sticky drops? What can I do about them?
Thank you for any advice you might have!
AnswerHi Kate,
Given the health of your Pachira, I believe that those are simply sap droplets that it is oozing. If it is NOT on the top sides of any leaves or on the floor underneath the tree, then that is what it is and don't worry about it.
If you are finding the stickiness in these other locations, then you may have a scale infestation. If so, let me know and we can talk more about that.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
