QuestionI have a John F. Kennedy rose which I've had for about 10 years. It has never done well, only bearing 3-4 blooms per year. I want to move it to another area in my yard which gets more sunlight, hoping that will help it do better. Can I transplant it now? If not, when would be the best time? ALso, can you offer any suggestions on things I can try to help this rose do better? It is not sick, nor is it infested with insects. It has just remained small all these years, with very poor growth of foliage and flowers. I live in zone 7b. Thanks a lot.
AnswerPatty,
Yes, this is a good time of year to move it as long as you do it immediately this weekend. If it starts growing too much it will be too late. Move it the the sunniest location you have and that will make a world of difference. Also pick up some rose food and feed it regularly this summer. That will make a world of difference. Good luck.
