Yes, there is a plant commonly called corn plant because its leaves look a bit like leaves on a real corn plant. It's botanical name is Dracaena fragrans.
It does best in a quite small pot located close to a window but out of reach of the direct rays of the sun. In front of a north window is ideal.
Allow the top quarter of the soil to dry out in between thorough waterings. It needs very little fertilizer, which can be skipped altogether.
Poor light, large pots, and soil that is kept too moist are the most common causes of leaf yellowing.
