Question
i have a bogonvia bush that is acting really sick ...i looked it over and it has a slippery white patch all over it and if i take it off ,,,it has brown like seeds in it ,,,i washed the plant in the sink and trimmed it ,,,is there anything else i can do ..it was such a beatiful plant but now yuck

Hi Scott,

Your description is a bit vague, but I suspect that you are referring to mealybugs, which have a white cotton-like texture surrounding a soft, tan-colored body inside.

The best treatment for mealybug is to thoroughly spray the entire plant with a solution of 5 parts water and 1 part rubbing alcohol with a squirt of liquid soap. Cover all leaf and stem surfaces until they are dripping wet.
