QuestionI have a mini rose.I just repoted it from the store pot but most of the stems turned black and died. The 2 that i have left the petals are wilting.I give it as much natural light as I can and also have artificial light for it.I keep the soil moist any idea WHAT I AM DOING WRONG?
AnswerHi Sirhcanna,
Repotting was a mistake, but you probably would have been disappointed even if you had not repotted. Mini roses are hybrids that are forced into bloom out of season. The flowers last for only a short time and rarely flower ever again. Like cut flowers, they should be discarded after they finish flowering. I know the retailers never tell you this, so it is disappointing to find out after the fact.
So, don't blame yourself. Next time select a plant that is expected to have longevity as an indoor plant.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
