QuestionI just asked you a question about my peace lilly and now I have another one for you. This plant also came from my dads funeral 1 1/2 years ago (in fact all of my plants but one did and I guess I didn't get the green thumb gene!). I believe it is a peace lilly also but a different kind, it the leaves almost look like hearts. I have never seen a bloom out of this one before. For about the first year this plant was my favorite because it would droop a little and I would put it in the tub, give it 1 liter of water and the next day it would stand so tall and straight and looked beautiful. I took it home from school for Christmas (6 hour trip) and it was fine. I then took it home for the summer and it did fine all summer until a few weeks in August when it was time to go back to school. I had it sitting in my room in a window facing east and I did not turn on my air conditioner so it wouldn't get too cold. The stems started to curve in different directions and no longer stood tall. Some of the leaves turned yellow and some the tips browned. I took the plant back to Kansas City in August and sat it about 6 feet from a window facing northwest. It still wasn't doing good so I repotted it from and 8 in to 10 inch pot with potting soil that has fertilizer in it. Left it alone for a few weeks and no change. I then moved it right by the window facing the northwest (same window as the plant in my first question) and it has been there since about October until now. It droops really fast but the soil seems damp when it droops so I will just give it a little drink (maybe 12 oz. or so) and it will perk up a little. The leaves all have brown edges still and the stems are curvy/have small bends in them. There are about 6 new growths and they seem to be curvy too and one has a brown spot but they are obviously healthier looking than the older growth. Thanks for your time!
AnswerJennifer,
I don't think it is a peace lilly. I believe it is an anthurium that can bloom. For a picture of an anthurium go to this website:

They are from Hawaii.
They live their in very sandy fast draining soil. If you can get your hands on some sand remove the plant from the pot and mix the soil with the sand then repot the plant.
Then cut back on the water, it is drooping because of too much water not too little. Your light is perfect for the plant. Good luck.
