QuestionWant to know if it will kill or hurt a peace lily.If it is separted and repotted. It wes sent to a funeral,& several people want a peace of it.It is bloming.I am afraid it will kill or hurt the plant to brake it up right now.It is a med side peace lily.
AnswerHi Sherrill,
Dividing a peace lily is a risky procedure even for an experienced plant person. It shocks the plant, exposes the roots to potential infections, requires just the right soil and pot size, and will discourage flowering for quite some time.
I strongly suggest that you try to avoid dividing or repotting your peace lily. Drawing straws might be a better solution. That way at least one family member will end up happy!
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
