our corn plant is becoming to tall for the room it is in, we cut the top off of it?

Hi Jason,

Yes, you can prune off the top. New growth will emerge just below the pruning cut and grow up from there. The lower you cut, the more room it will have for future growth. The top cutting can be rooted in water or moist soil or at the base of the existing plant.
