QuestionI live in Oklahoma and a friend of mine has a large greenhouse (40Wx60Lx16T). We divided what we call a split leaf philodendoren into several smaller plants. Their growth has been fine but now the older leaves seem to be turning yellow. Could it be over watering? Not enough fertilizer? This is a hobby for both of us. I'm not sure exactly what the plant is called, some leaves can grow to 18" heart shaped discs with holes or notched edges. We'd appreciate any help.
Thanks LT

sounds like a splitleaf philodendron. water by weight. put a saucer under the pot. water and let the plant sit in the excess water for 5-10 minutes. after that time pour off any excess water in the saucer. pick up the pot. it should feel heavy. don't water again until it feels considerably lighter in weight. the soil will be light in color/not dark and wet. outdoors check the plants everyday. indoors check it every 5-10 days. watering frequency depends on many factors(sun exposure, wind, day temps, etc.). place plastic bags over the plant pots to increase humidity when propagating.
