QuestionHave never had house plants because of my cat. Cat recently died and would like to obtain house plants that are easy--never been known to have a green thumb and have little free time to invest in plants.
Would like something to add color and life to home. Any suggestions and tips would be appreciated.
Thanks, Karla
AnswerHi Karla,
The easiest plant is a ZZ Plant, if you can find one. It can survive in very bright light or in relatively low light. It never needs to be repotted or fertilized. It doesn't require misting. And it only need to be watered every 3 to 4 weeks. In other words, it thrives on neglect. Overwatering is the one thing that will do it in.
There are other plants that are also relatively easy, but they are more specific with their light requirements and will need more frequent watering.
I have written an article on how to select houseplants that I will email to you if you send a request to me at my address below.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
