QuestionHello
I am in charge of moving our small business 2 miles away from where we are currently located. We are in Minneapolis and the temperature is icy cold. We have several plants that need to be transported including a very large Scheffelera (sp?) and a large tree we are unable to identify. Do you have any advice how we can transition these plants with as little damage as possible?
AnswerDave,
Wrap them and lay them down in the back of a warm van or warm minivan. Wrap the pot in a trash bag and twist tie it at the top so if you loose soil when you lay the plant down it will stay in the trash bag. Then wrap the top of the plant to protect it as you move it to and from the heated vehicle. Either use a garbage bag to wrap the top or a bed sheet. Anything to protect it. This is not a good time of year to move plants. Your large tree is probably a ficus and they hate cold drafts so you absolutely have to wrap it and move it in a heated vehicle. The schefflera is also tropical and hates the cold. Good luck.
