How often do these plants Flower? I noticed they dont have any flowers in the pictures so that's why I'm asking.
Also, How hard are these plants to come by? Would I be able to find real ones up here in Canada?
Thanks again

I'm trying to find out what these plants are called shown in the link below
http://abc.go.com/primetime/xtremehome/gallery/308.html?photo=32
I think they are called WhiteBird, but I am not sure.
Can you tell me.
Also, do they do well as an indoor plant for someone living in a Zone 2/3?
Thanks

Kristie,
You have a beautiful living room. I could not see the plants real well but I beleive they are probably Bird of Paridise plants whose flowers come in several colors including orange, yellow, white and I beleive a pink one.
As far as living indoors in zone 2/3, only if they get lots of sunshine. They are very tropical sun worshipers.
Good luck.
Darlene
AnswerKristie,
I a sure they are white bird of paradise plants also known as White Birds. Here are some sites with more info on them:
http://www.plant-care.com/white-bird-of-paradise-strelitzia-nicolai.html
http://www.denverplants.com/foliage/html/BirdW.htm
http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/2467/
http://www.plantfacts.com/Family/Strelitziaceae/Strelitzia.nicolai.shtml
Read those sites completely. You might be able to find one at a greenhouse or plant center in the summer. Or you may have to mail order one.
I had a small orange flowering bird of paradise several years ago and ended up giving it to my mother in law in Florida who planted it in the ground and it bloomed in about 2 years. While I had it I had a big problem with mealy bugs on it. At this point in time I would not buy another but I am more interested in bonsai and concentrate my efforts there.
Good luck if you decide to buy one,
Darlene
