QuestionHow can I restart a new plant from my Candy Corn Plant?
AnswerCheryl,
This is not the best time of year to propagate any plant, spring is much better, However you can give it a try if you want to.
This is a succulent plant so each leaf will root if it falls off and touches soil so you might want to look under your plant to see if you already have babies rooted there. If you do you can gently remove them and pot them in a separate pot then fill in under your original plant with some fresh soil.
If not you can also take cuttings 4-6 inches long from your plant and remove the leaves on the lower 1/3 of the cutting. Dip the cutting in rooting hormone available at any garden center then insert the cuttings in a new pot of soil. You can also sprinkle the loose leaves that you removed around the cuttings. Some of them will grow and fill the pot faster. When you take cuttings off your plant it will get fuller also because it will usually grow 2 branches for every 1 that you remove. Good luck.
