QuestionI have a palm in my home. I do not know what kind it is. It has three stalks - one measures 9 feet, one eight feet and one four feet high. It is fixing to outgrow the height of my room and I want to do what is best for it. I assume I can re-pot somehow. Can I just cut the stalks for new growth or do I need to re-pot the little one and start over. I have no place to transplant the larger stalks. It would be so awesome if you are able to advise so that I can save the plant and keep it content. Thank you, Kenny King
AnswerKenny,
If you repot your palm to a larger pot it will grow larger. Palms cannot be divided. Each stalk will not grow a new plant. Is it possible for you to email me a digital picture of your palm so we can determine what kind of palm it is. Then I can give you my best advice. There is a big difference between different types of palms. Please email your picture to

Thanks.
