QuestionI purchased a plant with numerous yellow flowers
with tiny red spots. The plant has large light
green leaves with a rough surface. The sales
women said it is called a purse plant, because
it's in the shape of a womens purse. Would you
kindly send growing instructions. Thank you
Jack
AnswerHi Jack,
Pocketbook plant is known botanically as Calceolaria herbeo hybrida. This is an annual that should be discarded after it finishes flowering because it will die anyway.
To enhance its flowering period provide warm temperatures, fresh air, no direct sunlight, and let it get moderately dry before watering.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
