QuestionHello Mr.Creed:
I've been browsing through previous houseplant questions you've answered. I ran across one in which someone was wondering whether or not they could root yucca shoots that they had cut off of the main woody trunk.
Your answer was:
"Yes, you can root the stem cuttings in moist soil. Tip cuttings, consisting of about 6 to 12 inches of leaves with another 6 to 8 inches of bare stem below that, have the greatest chance for success. Use a small pot filled with a porous, peat-based potting mix. Provide as much light as possible."
My question is, would this also work for Dracaena fragrans?
AnswerHi Jonathan,
Yes, you can apply the same technique to Dracaena fragrans as its growth habit is the same as Yucca.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
