QuestionHi Darlene,
I just got a gold fish plant i put it in a 6 inch pot from a 4 inch pot because the roots were coming out from the bottom.Does it like sun,and do i prune it.How big will it get? It's blooming now, does it bloom all the time?
THANK-YOU
AnswerSandra,
It likes a sunny location where it actually has sun on it. It blooms better when it is rootbound. I would not prune it unless it gets gangly looking and they usually don't if they are in a sunny location. It should never be moved to a pot larger than 8 inches. Be carful not to overwater it. It comes from South America where it is native to an area that is fairly dry with only occasional rain. If it stops blooming and it is in a sunny location try sprinkling 2 teaspoons of epsom salts on top of the soil before you water it. Epsom salts is magnesium sulfate and will trigger blooming in blooming plants that aren't, including African Violets. I love Goldfish plants, the flowers are so cute. Good luck.
