Plumeria and Philodendron infested with bugs

Question
Hi Will -

Both my plumeria and philodendron are infested. There are tiny
little critters on the underside of the leaves that are brown and
sort of a long skinny oval shape. They also appear to have
striations. the Plumria leaves and stems are looking spotty and
kind of like they have lines all over them. I don't notice any
spotting on the philodendron but the leaves have turned
completely brown and fallen off one by one. I haven't noticed that any
of my other plants are infested.

Can you help?

Answer
Hi Kristin,

I need a better description of the critters that you are seeing. About how long are they? Do they move? Do they have any features such as legs or heads? Are they hard or soft? Are they flat or raised? Are the striations on the bugs or on the leaves? Are they located on the tops or bottoms of leaves? Do you find them along the stems? Have you seen them on the Philodendron, as well?

If you can e-mail a couple of good photos that would be very helpful.
