identify a plant and determine propagation methods

Question
Ms. Kittle,
I received a plant for a funeral service... it is lovely, but I have never seen one before.

The base of the plant are slender, woody stemps that rise 4" to 8" from the soil and branch to 4 to 8 stems, each supporting a single leaf structure-- almost like a palm frond, except for the leaf shape.

Leaf shape is ovoid; 4"to6", varigated in green, pale green and yellow.

I'm treating it as a tropical, using Supersoil to re-pot it from the 8" pot it was in. It did wilt once-- funerals neccessarily happen with lots of stress for the family and a billion things to take care of. Set in the sink, soaked, but not left standing in water, the plant perked up in 3 hours.

It really is spectacular, and I'd like to re-produce it.

Thank you,
Melody L. Polson

Answer
Melody,

It is not something that sounds familiar to me. Is there any possibility that you can email me a digital picture of the plant. If so send it to [email protected]. If I can't figure it out from the picture I'm sure I can get help identifying it. Then I can tell you how to reproduce it.
