Hello, Darlene.  I'm hoping you can help me.  Do you know of a school here in Fort Wayne that I can attend towards a degree in botany, or a related field?  Or, where I could start to become a master gardener, like yourself?

Are you related to Terry Gardner? Just curious. I reccommend that you call the Allen County Extension Office and sign up for the Master Gardener classes. The phone # is 481-6826 then push option 3 and ask for Ricky Kemery or Kathy Dew. They will explain how to become a master gardener. You can tell them that I told you to call.

If you talk to Ricky he can also explain more about getting a degree in botany. I know St. Francis offers some classes and/or you can start at IPFW but I beleive that you would have to go to Purdue in Lafayette to finish a degree program. Ricky can advise you very well on that.
