QuestionI would like to know how to take care of geraniums in the winter. They are outside in the garden and I live in the north of Spain. Thanks in advance.Reyes leiro
AnswerReyes,
I put mine in pots and put them in front of a southfacing window in an unheated room, a cool garage would be fine too. Or a cold cellar with flourescent lights. The idea is to keep them cool but above freezing, water them lightly once every 3 weeks and give them plenty of light.
They may get some brown leaves but in the spring set them back outdoors and water them normally and they will spring back to life. The more sun they get the greener they will stay but keep them cool and the next thing to dry so they go through a dormant rest period with no growth. Good luck.
