i bought a houseplant. it had no identify or care instructions. the plant has green leaves about six inches long with white coloring in the middle of the leaf.  everyday another leaf turns yellow and dies. please help. thank you

Without a picture or a very detailed description of the plant, size, pot size, shape of leaves, vine or stalks, where you live, where the plant sits, it is very hard to identify the plant or what it's problem is.
However, yellowing leaves usually means it is not getting enough light &/or it is getting too much water. Move it to a sunnier location and cut back on water until the plant feels dry and light weight.  Did you repoot it?  If so what was the size of the original pot and what size pot did you move it to?  If you can send a picture send it to [email protected].
