QuestionGOOD MORNING:
I have a cactus but I do not know the name of it. It has a number of main stalks and a number of branches on each stalk. My question is: there are some brown spots on the tips of the branches. I was fearful that the brown spots would gradually engulf the complete branch so I cut of the brown spot slightly below where it ended. After the cut, there was a white "blood" that emerged and the next day the cut was dried out and appeared to be healed. Was my cut helpful or do it I just leave any future brown spots alone?
Yours truly,
Ira Katzin
AnswerIra,
If it bled white milky fluid it is a euphorbia succulent and not a true cactus. It sounds like cutting out the brown spot was okay but I am concerned about what was causing the brown spots to begin with.
How often do you water it? How much sun does it get? Do you suspect any reason for the brown spots? Let me know and we will discuss solutions.
