QuestionHow can I tell the difference between a Philodendron and a Pothos (Scindapus)?
AnswerHi Jesse,
The heart-leafed Philodendron and the Pothos are very commonly confused because they do look similar.
The Philodendron has very dark green leaves that are typically smaller and thinner than Pothos leaves. The Philodendron stems are also thinner.
Pothos leaves are often, but not always, variegated with splashes of white or yellow on the geen leaves. Philodendrons do not have any variegation. If you see variegation, you can be sure it is a Pothos.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
