QuestionCan you tell me were I could possibly find a list of some sort on pet friendly house plants. I live in Missouri if that makes a difference on the plants that I could actually have good luck with as far as growing. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
AnswerHi Tammy
Here are a couple of websites that I use to check the toxicity of plants. Being both a plant lover and a dog lover, I appreciate what you are doing. There are so many plants that will make an animal sick and won't affect us. A lot of people don't even think about this. We just bought a new house (new to us, is actually 2 years old) and the people who lived here before had the backyard landscaped. They put in two oleander shrubs. These are very popular here in Phoenix because they will survive the heat and take very little water. But, they are also very toxic, even causing death, in both humans and animals. I was surprised to see these back there being they had not only a puppy but a toddler also. One of the first things I did when moving in was remove those shrubs. I have a very nosy puppy who loves to chew on plants!
