QuestionI have a rubber tree that has branches that are long and heavy. I would like to use rooting powder to cut some of the length off and replant. Can you tell me how to do this. I have been told to just cut off the plant and dip it in the powder and plant it. I have also been told to cut slits in the branch, put the rooting powder on the slits and wrap it in wet paper towel and keep moist until the roots form. Which way is right?
AnswerLinda,
With the first way you might have 1 out of 10 cuttings actually grow roots.
The second way is the best, it is called air layering. These sites have complete instructions.

If you have more questions after checking out those sites write again. Goodluck.
