QuestionCan you tell me if I would be able to put asparagus fren berries in soil and if they would grown? If not, what can I plant from a current asparagus fern that would grow new foliage?
Thanks!
AnswerJeffrey,
Yes, those berries are seed pods and if they are allowed to ripen until thy are red and soft you can try planting them and see if they sprout. It depends on whether or not they were fertilized.
Otherwise your best way of propagating the plant is to split the plant in half by literally cutting the plant down the middle with a sharp knife. Put each half in a pot the same size as the pot it came out of. In about 6 months both pots will be full gorgeous plants.
Good luck.
