Dear Darlene,
Do you have any contact of arborist or nursury specialist please? Is there one in allexperts please?
Yes, I'm in Ontario.
I have two maple trees. The other one is not turning color yet. This one has been like this for a month. So I worry about it. It is two years after being purchased.
The apple tree was like for two months. The other ones are still with leaves.
I have some spray for insects control. Do you think ants will damage of a tree? My husband is crazy about getting rid of ants, but I don't think so. Ants are everywhere in the field, if a tree can't deal with ants, how could it live?
Thanks!
Li
Dear Darlene,
Recently my maple tree is showing symptoms of yellow leaves, ants on the tree. I will sent you the photos via
[email protected] with subject of my name.
For the apple tree, the leaves are going off.
I water the trees not so often as grass and plants since I think they have stronger and deeper root systems.
Thank you for your suggests!
Li

Dear Li,
From the license plate in one of the pictures it appears that you live in Ontario. I live in northern Indiana. This time of year maple leaves are beginning to go into fall mode and even starting to turn their fall colors of red & yellow. Their are also a lot of insects this time of year such as aphids and white flies but at this late hour they will not do any damage to the trees.
My specialty is indoor tropical houseplants so feel free to consult an arborist or nursury specialist for his opinion. I don't think that you have anything to worry about. I feel they are just going through the stages that lead to normal fall leaf drop. Apple trees are among the first to loose their leaves. Your maple tree is lovely. How old is it?
Good luck with both trees.

Cut and paste the above into your browser and it will take you to the tree specialists in All Experts. Maybe they can give you better advice on your trees.
I do think that the trees are just showing signs of stress from uneven watering and cold temperatures this summer. Maple tree roots are very shallow.
Good luck.
