Pothos/ devils Ivy

Question
Hi Will,
I have been given a Pothos/ Devil's Ivy plant that has 3 real nice long vines coming off of it.  I have grown this before and I must say it is an easy plant to take care of and I really love the things you can do with it.  The problem with this new one is that it is grown in a vase with nothing but water.  I don't think I can get it out without damaging in because the neck is so small that the 3 stems that are coming out almost fill the opening.  Is it ok to leave it in there and just add water when it needs it?  Is there any special care I should be doing with this?  Thank you for any help you can give.
Brian.

Answer
Hi Brian,

Your pothos cuttings will live for a long time in water alone. However, if you add a very dilute amount of fertilizer to the water every month, that will help prolong their life by providing the nutrients they don't get from plain water.

Change the water every couple of weeks. If your local tap water is on the hard side, then use filtered, distilled or rainwater.

When the vines become very long, they can be pruned back.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
