AnswerOrpha,
Anthuriums are native to Hawaii and are beautiful plants. Thay can be difficult to maintain. They do best in a sandy soil, most that you buy are in a spaghmim peat moss based soil. I reccommend removing them from the pot and carefull bruch away most of the soil and mixing half & half with play sand, then carefully pack it back around the plant. Then do not water until the top 2 inches of soil are dry. It will still have plenty of moisture in the root zone. During the winter it needs high humidity, either raise the humidity with a humidifier. Or use a humidity tray under the plant.
Good luck.
