QuestionI have a 6ft rubber plant,it has branched off into two sections. It is very healthy but the branches are top heavy, can I cut it back. Thanks

Yes, rubber plants can benefit from being pruned back. New growth will emerge just below the point on the stem where you make the cut. Thus, it is best to prune the stem back close to the center of the plant so that it will become more compact looking.
The top portion that you remove can be rooted in moist potting mix. Remove all leaves except for the top 4 to 6 and leave a bare stem of no more than 6 inches. Insert this tip cutting in a small pot filled with a porous, peat-based potting mix.
