QuestionI recieved a plant as a gift, all the tag said was, tropical plant care, with a picture of about 5 different plants on it. I would like to know how to better take care of it, how to get starts off of it, ect. It has leaves that come in bunches of 3's, and somewhat resemble a cross between ivy, and poison oak. It is solid green, and is taller rather than bushy. It is approx. 8 mos. old. Can you help me? I will also be sending a picture. Thank you, Nikki
AnswerNicki,
Your plant is a Grape Ivy, the latin name is Cissus rhombifolia.
This website has a lot of info about them:

It makes a wonderful hanging basket plant. I put mine outside for the summer on the east side of my home where it gets a lot of morning light and no hot afternoon sun. It can be started from cuttings. Cut off a 6-8inch long peice right above a leaf. Remove the 1st 1-2 leaves. Dip the cutting in rooting hormone such as Root Tone. Insert the cutting in a hole (made with a pencil) in a new pot of soil. Water it as you would the parent plant and put it in a sunny location. It should be rooted within 3-4 weeks. Good luck.
