QuestionI have Ti plant and can't find any infomation on the correct fertilizer to use.
AnswerHi Milton,
Let me state up front that fertilizer is really not very important and does not have nearly the benefits that the fertilizer ads lead us to believe. Good quality potting mixes have more than enough nutrients to last for several years or more. Plants cannot be force-fed; in fact, too much fertilizer is a far greater problem than too little.
Assuming your Ti plant is healthy, growing vigorously and has not been repotted in fresh soil in the last year, then you can use a "complete" fertilizer that has a N-P-K ratio listed on the label in roughly a 3-1-2 ratio (15-5-10, for example). A "complete" fertilizer is one that includes all of the minor and trace elements (calcium, magnesium, iron, et.al.) listed in fine print somewhere on the label. Foliage-Pro made by Dyna-Gro is a good example. I recommend that you use fertilizer at half strength for your houseplants.
A final note: Ti plants are very sensitive to fluoride. In addition to water, perlite and superphosphate fertilizers are potent sources of fluoride. It is best to avoid using these with your Ti plant.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
