QuestionI would like to know if its possible to keep on brading it as it grows? I would also like to know all of the good ways and right ways to take care of it. Its in a 8in plant holder and we just bought it today so I'm not to familiar with any of it.
AnswerCrystal,
To continue braiding you need to grow in in a well lighted location so it continues to grow fast and remove leaves on the trun and braid it regularly as it grows while the trunks are still young and flexible. Keep the top as full of leaves as possible by giving it plenty of light near a south window with drapes and miniblinds fully open during the day. When you water it once a week give it 1/4 strength Miracle grow or other water soluable fertilizer. Do not let it go totally dry. In hot summer it can go outdoors in semi shaded area so it won't sunburn. It will grow even faster outdoors. In late July you can repot it into a 10 inch container (no larger please) and in April 2005 you can repot into a 12" pot where it can live happily for many years. When you repot use a cactus soil mix.
