Question--------Hi Darlene,
Thanks for getting back with me so soon! I really appreciate it! I have my PEACE LILLY (;)) sitting in my bedroom because it is the warmest room in my house, but, there is no light in there.I work 3rd shift so my windows are covered in black plastic so i may sleep in the day time.I've only watered it one time since i recieved it on Feb. 21st, and that was two days ago. If i had to guess, i would say it's about 2 maybe 3 inches in height and about the same around. When i watered it, i gave it miricle grow plant food added in the water, and about 2cups worth of water. The thing is i have another Peace Lilly also and it is setting by a south window in my living room, it's 3times the size of this one, and my blinds are barely open on it. My husband got me that one for my b-day ,and it looks worse cause my living room is so drafty with my fireplace. That is why i put this one in my bedroom in hopes to keep it warm.
So what do you think? Any hopes of me saving these beautiful plants?
Thanks Again ,

Kim,
It is called a peace lilly or spathyphyllum. How often are you watering it? How close is it sitting to a window and what direction does that window face? Does the window have drapes or miniblinds or sheers and how much are they open? Answer those questions and I will help you keep your peace lilly alive.

AnswerKim,
The lack of light is your major problem. Plants have to have light to grow. They need light to activate photosynthesis for the leaves to turn that fertilizer into food so the plant will grow. My peace lilly is about 4 feet from a south facing window that has no drapes or miniblinds so it gets lots of light. It is 3 feet from my back door so it gets drafts but that's okay. It needs the light. Put both plants by the south window and open thosse miniblinds during the day and the peace lillies will start growing. The only reason the one in the living room looks worse is it has been living with not enough light for longer.
When you water them water enough for all the soil in the pot to get moist then do not water again until they are very dry again. Fertilize with the miracle grow about once a month. They should improve dramatically if you follow these instructions. Good luck. Let me know if you have more problems.
