QuestionDear Darlene,
I live in the west coast of Ireland, I am having major problems with wooly aphids on my Virginian Creepers in my conservatory. I would be very grateful for any non chemical advise
AnswerMichael,
I would start by spraying them with rubbing alcohol full strength right out of the bottle. That kills most insects on contact. If you have a sink in your conservatory a good hard spray washing will send most of the aphids down the drain. Then give them a good spray with the rubbing alcohol or you can use 1 tablespoon of dish detergent in a quart of water sprayed on. Sorry, I'm in U.S. and not good with metrics.
Spray them every 3rd day for three weeks, making sure you get the fronts and backs of all leaves. Consistency is the key. Good luck.
Darlene
