Phal growing slowly

Question

Phal
Hi Wayne King,

My phals which are repotted two months ago, have a lot of new roots with green tips & some small new leaves. But,in my opinion, these leaves are growing very slowly or like stop at the midway growth. I water twice a week with each time 1/4 strength 20-20-20 fertilizer.  After 4th watering, I flush them with water without fertilizer. I've attached the photo.

Could this be due to re-arrangement of position as sometimes I move a few inches away from original spot?

Thanks in  advance,
Nwe Lay

Answer
Congratulattions for nice looking plants. It is not unusual for newly repotted plants to take several months to re-establish themselves. The leaves in the photo look like they are getting the right amount of light.  Don't change anything for now and see how it's doin in another 3 months. Remember that the plant will need to produce several new roots and then these, as they get established will nourish new leaf growth.  This is slow process but you can't rush nature. Moving the position of the plant only becomes significant during the onset of flowering.  Otherwise, the only time you need to chang the plant's orientation or location is to introduce more or less light.
