Questioni just bought my first orchid, i've always wanted one. :) unfortunately i had to leave it in the car on a hot day due to an unexpected hospital visit. now, it's droopy and wilted. i watered it. is there anything else i should do? Pruning, etc.
AnswerJaqi, I would try repotting the plant in fresh orchid potting mix. When you unpot your plant, rinse off the roots and remove any that are mushy (healthy orchid roots are firm). Soak the orchid potting mix prior to use. You may lose the droopy leaves depending upon the condition of the roots. You need good roots to generate new leaves. Be sure to use orchid potting mix with the coarser paticle size (average of 1/2 inch in diameter) and be sure your pot has lots of drainage holes. Do not water for one week, then water weekly.
