QuestionHi, there ~ I received a Dtps. Leopard Prince orchid two years ago as a gift. I kept it in indirect sunlight, watered once per week and it bloomed beautifully all along both stems.
Unfortunately, I took it to work, and it hasn't done well at all. In fact, I think it's dead. Two small pods appeared about a month ago, and then dropped off. No other stem buds are growing. I brought it back home, cut off the dead roots, soaked the moss it was wrapped in (and the rest of the roots) in 10-15-10 liquid plant food and repotted it. Should I repot it in soil, or is it beyond repair? The leaves are kind of "pruney" looking, like skin after a long, hot bath, but a new leaf has grown. Should I totally cut off the 1' long stems or just leave it as it is and hope for the best?
Thanks so much.

AnswerTracy, the main emphasis now should be to locate a suitable potting mix and repot your plant. The orchid potting mix should have fir bark pieces in it. Because fir bark, when dry, repels water, you should soak it prior to use. Be sure to use a plastic pot with lots of drainage holes. After repotting, let the pot drain before moving it to your growing area. Then water it once per week. You will probably lose the shriveled leaves, but the new leaves should be fine and lead the way to recovery of the plant.
