Phalaenopsis I-Hsin Snow Bear - leaves shrivel snd spots

Question
Help!  My Phal. I-Hsin Snow bear has not bloomed since I acquired it two -three yrs ago.  I have three leaves, all pretty limp and one is shriveled and has brown spots under the leaves.  It is in a south facing window but diffused light.  It is in the house at temps of about 65 -68F.  I water it about once a week and use a fertilizer for orchids of 20 - 10- 20 dissolved in watet.  I always let the water drain.  What should I do?  I don't want to lose it!  Help!

Answer
Fernanda, your plant needs to be repottedin fresh orchid potting mix.  The reason for the appearance of the leaves is root rot from a decomposed potting mix.  When you unpot your plant you will noticed that one or more roots are mushy or stringy (healthy roots are firm and turn green when wet). When roots rot, the leaves that are dependent upon them for nourisshment are cut off and slowly die.  Your light, temperature, and feriliizer are fine but the plant should have been repotted following its first flowering.  Sorry that no one informed you of this need. The shriveled leaves will fall off from the plant.  Hopefull, you have at least one or two healthy roots to help grow new leaves. Any healthy roots will need the right potting mix to grow new roots and leaves.  If you have no healthy roots, chances of successful new growth is dubious.
