QuestionHi. This may be a sacrilegious question, but I have had great success with those glass watering globes on all my other plants, I was wondering if it would be alright to use one for my orchid. The orchid was a gift and it has been doing well, but with summer coming, I'm afraid I won't keep up on the watering. The advantage of the watering globes is they only administer water when needed. I've used one in my Christmas Cactus and the results have been amazing.
Thanks for your time.
AnswerSuzi, I would try it before commiting to it. The concern I would have is that orchid potting mix is coarser and with a less uniform consistency than the potting mix you have for your Christmas Cactus. You may not get a uniform distribution of moisture in the orchid potting mix.
